NEW JERSEY YOUTH SOCCER SCHOLARSHIPS – High school seniors are being invited to apply for the following scholarships, each of which will offer two $1000 awards:

Paul Hausser Scholarship – applicant intends to go to college and pursue a career in education; must have played for an affiliated New Jersey Youth Soccer Club;

Jeanine Willis Scholarship - applicant intends to go to college or an accredited technical school; must have played for an affiliated New Jersey Youth Soccer Club.

NEW JERSEY SOCIETY OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTSOpen to all New Jersey college-bound high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in accounting. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic standing, standardized test scores, an essay and performance at a personal interview. Five-year awards range in value of up to $8,500. JANUARY

UNITED STATES JCI SENATE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM – Open to high school seniors who are US citizens graduating from US accredited schools, and who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. Application and instructions are available in the guidance office or at www.njjcisenate.com

                                                                                    DEADLINE:  January 8, 2010

GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS PROGRAM – Nominees must be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American; must be citizen/legal permanent resident or national of the US; must have cumulative GPA of 3.3/4.0, or a GED; must have demonstrated leadership abilities; must meet Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria. See your counselor to self-nominate.

GEORGE WASHINGTON CROSSING FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP – Scholarships are available to high school seniors graduating in 2009 who plan to pursue a career in government service. Requirements include an essay, letters of recommendation and transcripts. Please visit the website at www.gwfc.org for complete information and application.

FEBRUARY

KFC COLONEL’S SCHOLARS PROGRAM – Open to high school seniors graduating this academic year with a minimum GPA of 2.75 or higher. Applicant must also plan to enroll in a public in-state college/university and pursue a bachelor’s degree, be a US citizen or permanent resident, and demonstrate financial need. Application must be completed online and will be available December 1st at www.kfcscholars.org

NATIONAL CO-OP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM – Open to high school seniors and community college transfer students who are planning to participate in college cooperative education. Criteria include high school GPA of 3.5 (B+) or better, completion of application materials including a one-page essay, and admission to one of the partner colleges.
