Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) The SAC provides prevention, intervention and support services for students who may be experiencing personal, family or substance abuse related problems. The program provides confidential counseling and referral service available to any student. The goals are to help students develop healthy coping skills, make positive lifestyle choices and avoid substance abuse problems. Staff, parents, peers or students themselves can make referrals. The SAC acts as a resource to school administrators, nurses, counselors, and teachers. Provide Prevention Education to the General Population Coordinate the school’s Intervention and Referral Services Committee (I&RS) Develop Intervention Plans for students identified through urine screens/lab tests Provide Group or Individual Counseling Taking Action to Save Kids (T.A.S.K.)
