I would like to share something very special with you today. The Flag of the United States of America As most of Bayshore Middle School knows I have two sons and a adopted daughter that serve in the military. You also know that my son Jeremy returned from his 2nd tour of Iraq not too long ago. Also, as a veteran and a citizen of this great country I see our flag as something really special. It represents our country and our way of life and even with all our problems it is still the best country in the world to be a citizen. So I would like to ask our students to show respect for our flag. The flag which represents the soldiers fighting in Afganistan and Iraq. The flag which represents the soldiers who have died, so that we can be free. Soldiers, who are sons, nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles mothers and fathers to the Administrators, teachers, staff and yes you our students. So please the next time you are asked to say the pledge and stand for the Star Spangled Banner, please stop talking, walking and ignoring the pledge whether you are in the classroom or in the hall. Please respect our flag and please show respect for the men and women who have died for it. God Bless our Troops Mr. Pflug |
