PTO I would like to urge all members of the Bayshore community to join and support our PTO. This organization works tirelessly for the benefit of our students and our school. Your presence and financial support will go a long way in making this great organization even better. Dues are $10.00 . Automated Phone Dialing Middletown Township School District has implemented an automatic phone dialing system to contact all parents of secondary students when their child is absent from school. This means that if your child is absent from school, or has been signed out before 10:30 AM, you will receive an automated telephone call sometime in the late afternoon. The message will inform you that your child was absent and will ask you to call the school to verify the absence. If you had already called to report an absence, you do not need to call again. Please understand that Bayshore Middle School will continue to personally contact the parent or guardian of every student who is absent. Our calls begin at 9:00 AM on the morning of the absence and will continue until every parent or guardian is reached. The automated system will serve as a “double-check” to the system Bayshore already has in place. Inclement Weather The procedures for inclement weather are as follows: School Closing: The decision to close school or delay opening is made at approximately 5:30 AM.The township fire sirens are set off at 6:30AM, 7:00AM and 7:30AM for closing of our schools. The school closing/delayed opening announcement is available as follows: This information is announced on local radio stations, on the Board of Education recorded message (732) 671-3850, and on the Middletown Township Board of Education website www.middletownk12.org . Radio stations that broadcast school closings are WKXW 101.5 FM WBUD 1260 AM Channel 62 News 12 New Jersey WHTG 106.3 FM Breeze 107.1 FM FOX 5 - TV Channel 5 Delayed Opening: In the event of a delayed opening school will start at 9:40 AM and end at regular time. There will be bus transportation for the students who would regularly be transported. Please know that when a delayed opening occurs, students should report to their assigned bus stop ninety minutes from the regularly scheduled pickup time. Early dismissal: In the event that snow is in the forecast please develop a plan with your child in case an early dismissal is called. While the buses will take bus students home, these students and all others need to know whether they should go home, to a neighbor, etc. Phones will be available on a very limited basis to those students who absolutely need to notify someone that school is dismissing early.
Bicycle HelmetsThe law states that any child under the age of 14 must wear a helmet while riding a bicycle. Students may not ride a bike to school without a helmet. We must protect our children even when they don’t want us to!
