PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dr. John Andl
Bayview School is a student-centered school. We strive
to provide an exciting, innovative and progressive approach to learning
while maintaining the integrity of a neighborhood school.
Our expectations are high. Students are challenged
academically and are expected to exhibit proper behavior at all times.
Among the innovative programs and features at Bayview are:
Project P.L.U.S (Peer Leaders Understanding Students), operated in
conjunction with the Middletown Municipal Alliance, where students are
trained in conflict resoulution and peer mediation; the Thanks Banks
program which recognizes proper student behavior; a Big
Brother/Sister program; Good News phone calls; an Assistant
Principal program; our own in-school television station which is run by
students and broadcasts morning announcements live to every classroom.
We have instituted a "Bully Proof" program to help
teach tolerance and anger management. We also instituted a
"Bayview Pledge", recited each morning by our students, which
emphasizes mutual respect, kindness an giving your best effort.
As a member of the Middletown Township Public Schools, we
have developed curricular revision and adaptation plans that correlate
closely with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards. Curriculum
committees use the standards as a guide to develop the new programs in
all Middletown Schools. Our school is committed to the common goal
of providing experiences for our students so they can successfully live
in an ever-changing world of challenges.
Our mission is to prepare our
students to become responsible citizens, to encourage them to explore
their dreams, to always work to the best of their ability and to make a
difference in our future.
BAYVIEW PLEDGE
I promise I will treat myself and others with respect.
I will use my proper manners and be courteous to all around us. I
will be kind and helpful to others. I will give my best effort in all
that I do.
