11.  BOARD COMMITTEE REPORTS

Mrs. Cavalier (Curriculum) stated that individual ad hoc committees will be reporting to the Curriculum Committee

at next month’s meeting.  She also noted that core selection guidebooks have been distributed to high school students and described “Saturday Academics” which is a program to help students prepare for SAT’s and HSPA’s.  Mrs. Cavalier stated that other districts have been contacted regarding staff development presenter “swapping.”  Mrs.

Diorio (Technology) stated that the committee has started the budget review process by prioritizing various items and are awaiting return of surveys sent to computer teachers.  She also described a pilot program, which is a discussion board on the internet for two fifth grade classes to discuss a novel.  Mrs. Walsh (Legislative) gave an update on S-1701, and noted that this district has been selected to host a Monmouth County School Boards Association forum on school funding on March 3, 2005, between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m.   Mrs. Minnuies (Facilities) discussed the Board’s high school tours.  Mrs. Minnuies also noted Mr. Lucarelli’s (Hill International) recommendation that the H.S.
