Place Pursuant to notices sent to each
member of the Board of Education, the regular meeting
of Meeting was held on Tuesday evening, June 21,
2005 in the High School North Library,
63 Tindall Road, Middletown,
New Jersey.
Call to Order At 7:45 p.m., the meeting was called to
order.

H.S. North students spoke on the Boards
policy for hiring coaches.

Kenny, Maureen Pizzeci and Jane Veth discussed the hiring of coaches.

South students spoke on the suspension of several students.
Ilene
Wilde spoke on the suspension of H.S. South students.
Dr.
Witmer discussed the H.S. South suspensions that were the result of a food
fight in the cafeteria. Dr. Witmer
stated that he totally supported the
Principals decision in not allowing the seniors to walk at graduation.
Mr.
Kenney stated that there is no requirement for the Board to suspend the
suspensions pending any appeals.

Mrs. Minnuies stated that five days will be deleted from next years school calendar: Columbus Day, Rosh
Hashanah, Friday of Presidents Day Weekend, and Monday and Tuesday of Spring break.

Mrs. Gevarter requested that the RFP process for food service begin in January or February so that timely comparisons
and decisions can be made well in advance. Mrs. Stallmeyer requested that elementary food service be looked at in the upcoming year in order to make improvements.

10. BOARD COMMITTEE REPORTS
Mrs. Gevarter (Personnel Committee) stated that the committee will be reviewing the policy for hiring coaches and
will make a recommendation to the Board. She also noted that the committee is now reviewing the new job descriptions for the new job titles in central office and would like any comments Board Members may have. Mrs.
Agin stated that the Policy Committee has agreed to move forward with the review of the revised policy and should
be completed by March of 2006. Mrs. Diorio (Facilities Committee) noted that the bid for the H.S. North athletic
field will be voted on at the June 30th special voting meeting. Mrs. Minnuies (Pupil Services Committee) stated that
the committee discussed summer school, noting that everything is now set.

back to order with the same individuals in attendance.
Mrs. Minnuies stated that the
Board as a whole does not recognize tonight as an appeal for the H.S. South
suspensions, but does strongly
support the Superintendent, Principal and Administrators at H.S. South on their
decision. Mr. Kenney stated that the Board does not
formally have an appeal before it, however, if anyone wants
to pursue an appeal to a forum
beyond the school district, the Board will make no procedural objection.
