Today, 11/22/2005, we had a threatening message written on the wall at HS North. The message was about an explosive device that was to be located in the building. The Principal contacted Ken Walls, Supervisor of Plant and Safety for the District, Chris Halpin, Assistant Superintendent and the local police. The decision was made to remove the students, by buses, to designated pick up location at Brookdale.   The police with dogs will screen and search the building.  Parents are able to pick up their children at Brookdale Gymnasium.   I will be sending out a message to all students and staff about this problem tomorrow as part of my Superintendent’s Update. I will remind everyone that when we find those responsible for writing these messages, Law enforcement will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.  We will hold those responsible for all costs associated with this disruption, which is about $15,000 for each incident. Students need to know that we may have to add additional days to this year’s calendar to make up for the lost school time. This is the time for cooperation and reporting of anyone who is responsible for this disruption to our school program.
