– to expose the children to great works of art. To help them appreciate and evaluate artists and their works.
– to improve the overall aesthetics of the school grounds. This may be done by planting, weeding, painting and the like.
– to act as liaisons between the vendor and Harmony. Setting up the books on stands, helping children to decide on and then purchase books for their reading pleasure. Break down of book fair at the end of sale. (Spring & Fall)
- To set up budget presentation for the PTO, handle distribution of signs and ‘get the word out’.
– to help bring quality programs to Harmony students that entertains as well as teaches a lesson or delivers a message.
- to be a liaison between the vendor and school. Organize and collate orders and check shipments upon delivery. Help with distribution to classes.
- to hand out and collect race forms, to help out at our school table on the day of race. (held once a year in October) This is a Middletown Education Foundation event, benefiting our school with proceeds from the race.
- To help coordinate the school newsletter. Make copies and distribute to classes once a month.
- to help provide outdoor activities and competitions between the blue and white teams during our fun day at the end of the school year.
- help children pick out and check out the books once a week. You may volunteer for your child’s class. Commitment is once a week for an entire school year.
– our monthly fundraiser. To help unload the delivery truck, separate and divide orders and double check the orders for accuracy. Need lots of people on delivery days to hasten the process.
- facilitates communication between Middletown parents and the district administration. Reports at PTO meetings once a month, sends updates to Harmony Herald and the website.
- need volunteers to unload the truck from the vendor, set up the night before the sale, and help the children shop on the day of the sale.
- Volunteers are needed to brainstorm for fundraising ideas, run fundraisers and reach out to community groups. Also needed are one or two people for publicity.
– this is an orientation/ reading program. Its purpose is to orient the pre-kindergartener to a formal school setting and instill an early love of books and reading. Program runs one hour a month, January to May.
-volunteers needed to help wrap, sell and help children shop at this extravaganza. Help coordinate pictures with Santa, 50/50, soliciting gifts for our raffle table.

- to coordinate bingo nights and movie nights.
- to add to and inspire the student’s love of science. It cumulates with a fair where the student’s projects are on exhibit.
- to shop for items, set up classroom and see that the shop runs smoothly on the day of the sale.
- to organize and help the students demonstrate their talents in a yearly show. There are also three practices. This event is held at Thorne Middle School.
- To coordinate throughout the year, taking pictures, setting up the yearbook pages and communicating with the company.
- All 5th grade parents are needed to coordinate special events throughout the school year. These events are organized during monthly 5th grade committee meetings.
- seek out vendors, setting up the school, providing 50/50 and raffle table support.
- to help the students provide the days news on ‘Harmony Happenings”. This is an early morning committee that works with the 5th grade students.
