BROOKDALE COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION/ALUMNI ASSN – Offer the following scholarships to seniors graduating from a Monmouth County high school who plan to attend Brookdale Community College in the fall of 2008:

MARINE TRADES ASSOCIATION OF NJ – Three scholarships are offered: a full scholarship to attend Pennco Tech for the Marine Technician Program; a full scholarship to attend the Automotive Training Center for the Marine Service Technology Program; and a $1500 scholarship that can be applied towards any marine trades program at any school. Criteria for both scholarships include, but are not limited to, New Jersey residency and high school graduation, a strong desire to succeed in a marine industry program and career, and strong personal character. MIDDLETOWN EAGLES POP WARNER SCHOLARSHIP – One male and one female high school senior eligible to receive a $500 scholarship based on participation in the Middletown Eagles Pop Warner program. Application is available in the guidance office.

NJ STATE GOLF ASSOCIATION CADDIE SCHOLARSHIP - The New Jersey State Golf Association (NJSGA) Caddie Scholarship is available to qualified applicants who have caddied at a member NJSGA club for at least two seasons. Selection criteria also include scholastic achievement, SAT scores, qualities of character and leadership, and financial need. Full-time attendance as an undergraduate at an accredited institution that is a member of the Association of American Colleges and Universities is required. Any applicants whose parents are members of a private golf club are not eligible for scholarships. Further details and applications are available in the guidance office or at www.njsga.org

WILLIAM R. EASTMOND MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – Sponsored by the Jersey Shore Pop Warner Football League, Inc. Eligibility requirements include participation at the Jersey Shore Pop Warner level for at least one year, either on the football team or cheerleading/dance squad, and plans to attend an accredited college/university in the fall of this year. Essay required. Applications are available in the guidance office.

WOODWARD REALTY GROUP SCHOLARSHIP – The scholarship program is available to high school seniors who are currently enrolled in a Monmouth County high school and plan to pursue a full-time course of study for a degree at a US school. Selection criteria include academic achievements, financial need, and contribution to family, school and community. Details and application are available in the guidance office.

THE BOB HACKER SCHOLARSHIP FUND – Applicant must be a senior in high school with a GPA of 3.25 or higher, whose parents/grandparents served in the military, and who resides in Burlington, Monmouth, or Ocean County. Essay and proof of military service, such as a copy of form DD214, are required. Applications should be sent to: The Bob Hacker Scholarship Fund, 18 Hanover Drive, Cookstown, NJ 08511. THE DONALD AND ITASKER THORNTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - Provides one or more one-year educational scholarship(s) to deserving young females of color. GPA of C+ or better; essay required. Complete information and applications are available in the guidance office.

UNITED WAY/JAMES E. BOURQUE COMMUNITY SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP – Eligible candidates for this one-time award of $1,250 must be high school senior residing in Monmouth County, maintain an academic standing in the top 25% of their graduating class, and have been accepted for matriculation by Brookdale Community College or Monmouth University. JON M. PRITSCH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – Golf scholarships are available to students within the state of New Jersey, who have played golf as a member of their high school team, are interested in a golf-related career, and qualify for admission to an accredited undergraduate college/university in the US. MASTER GARDENERS OF MONMOUTH COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP – Applicant should be a resident of Monmouth County who has demonstrated an interest in horticulture, and who plans to enroll in the Horticulture Certificate Program at Brookdale. Also required are a high school transcript and two letters of recommendation. Applications and details are available in the guidance office.

MONMOUTH COUNTY AUDUBON SOCIETY/2008 TED ENGBERG CONSERVATION SCHOLARSHIP – Applicant must be a Monmouth County resident, graduating from a Monmouth County high school in June 2008; accepted at a four-year college/university for the fall of 2008; majoring in a conservation related field. JERSEY COAST SHARK ANGLERS/RIVIERA BEACH BOAT CLUB SCHOLARSHIP Offering a one-time award of a minimum of $1000 to an Ocean or Monmouth County public high school senior whose intended major in college leads to a degree in Marine Biology, Oceanography, or Environmental Sciences. ASSOCIATION OF INDIANS IN AMERICA-MAHATMA GANDHI AWARD – This competition is open to high school students. Participants are encouraged to use their best medium of expression, i.e., an essay, poetry/song, or artwork, based on their own personal experience, which best conveys the theme: “Eye for an Eye Makes the Whole World Go Blind.” Details and application are available in the guidance office.

BIGSUN SCHOLARSHIP – Open to high school senior student-athletes, regardless of the sport engaged in. Application requires only a short (500 words or less) essay describing why you should be the winner of this award, submitted to athleticawards@bigsunathletics.com

“WIN-TO-WIN” ASTHMA SCHOLARSHIP – Sponsored by Schering-Plough, open to students who suffer from asthma. Students compete in five different categories: performing arts, visual arts, community service, athletics, and science. GPA must be between 3.5 and 4.0. For an application, call 800-SCHERING.

AES ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP – Available to high school seniors and all students attending a post-secondary educational facility. Engineering courses not required for eligibility.
