Welcome
to the Middletown High School North
Vocational School Programs
- Grades 11 & 12
- A Message to Parents
The Monmouth County Vocational School District is a route to success for its
graduates. A positive attitude towards teachers, school and fellow
students is needed to develop skills in the students chosen vocational
area. The cooperation of the parents with the vocational school is
necessary to help insure success for your child.
Parents are invited to contact the Monmouth County Vocational School District
Guidance Counselors for information about programs or to visit a program
before the students apply.
Transportation for a vocational program is supplied by the student's resident
district.
Students receive 20 credits per year (ten for the vocational program, five for
applied math, and five for applied science). These credits are granted
through the home high school and are applied toward home school graduation
requirements.

- Qualifications
All students should have a sincere interest in the vocational program and be
recommended by their high school guidance counselor. Both male and
female students are eligible to enroll for any program.
All courses provide a combination of theory and practical work to prepare the
student for entry-level employment skills or further specialized study.
The Monmouth County Vocational Schools are shared time schools with the
student attending their home high school for half the day and the vocational
school for half a day.
For further information, consult your high school guidance counselor or the
Monmouth County Vocational School counselor or call the Monmouth County
Vocational School District (732-431-6291).
- Tech Prep "2 plus 2" Programs
These programs enable the High School student to experience an advanced vocational
area of study that incorporates competitive programs in math and
science. Upon graduation, the high school student will have already
earned credits toward a degree program at Brookdale Community College.
Applicants will be required to attend orientation sessions to determine
eligibility.

Option 2 Programs
The State Department of Education has endorsed the premises of providing a
variety of programs to high school students, some of which provide college
credit. These programs are normally open to seniors who have passed
the HSPA. (Click on the program below to view more information about
that program.)
