Plans for the week of April 9-13, 2007

This week we will complete our Raising Awareness unit by enjoying and evaluating the last Project Presentations. We will individually evaluate your progress and folder at the beginning of the week to verify your MP 3 grade. We will discuss how we would like to approach our last units—the research paper and To Kill a Mockingbird. At the end of the week we will have a Crash Course in formal etiquette to prepare for the Spring Season.

Read a few selections from North’s own literary magazine, “Counterpoint.” Individually review the Raising Awareness folders and your MP3 grade.

Homework: List 6 questions about how to behave at formal affairs.

 

 

Thursday, April 12, 2007- Thoughtful Thursday

It’s PROM SEASON! Time for a “Manner’s Monday” crash course for formal

occasions. Discuss the rules and reasons of etiquette and what you will need

to survive the Prom, Graduation, and Wedding season.

Homework: List 6 questions about how to prepare for Junior or Senior Prom.

 

Friday—April 13, 2007-Formal Friday

Prom Practice: Do’ and Don’ts. Dating practices, greetings, handshakes, introductions, receiving lines, table conversation, small talk, and dancing.

Homework: Have a great weekend…slide into Spring. Start planning and  thinking about how you would like to spend your summer.
