Plans for the week of December 11 to 15, 2006

This week we will finish viewing Gary Sinise’s 1992 film “Of Mice and Men” and take the unit test on John Steinbeck’s Depression-era short novel, Of Mice and Men. You will make a picture about the book and write a blog about the theme of the American Dream.

 

Monday – December 11, 2006

Go over the plans for the week. Complete the Predicting and Validating Strategy Chart by validating your predictions. Using any medium (pen, color pencil, markers, paint, or computer-generated) create a visual image to represent a theme or a scene from Of Mice and Men.

Homework:  Complete your picture if necessary.

Homework: Study for tomorrow’s test. Read and highlight the CNN.com blogs about “Chasing the American Dream,” and prepare to write a responding blog as part of tomorrow’s test.

 

Friday – December 15, 2006

Take the multiple choice unit test on Of Mice and Men, and answer the blog question: What does the American Dream mean to you and is it achievable?
