Plans for the week of March 12 through March 16, 2007

This week we will continue to use the IDEPortal system and work on our reading, viewing, and projects for the Raising Awareness unit. You will finish reading your second book this week, and hand in your Interactive Bookmark for it. You will complete most of your project this week. If you have not borrowed a DVD yet, please plan to do so one night this week. We will continue our discussion about the Holocaust and view some scenes from feature films about the Holocaust.

 

Monday –March 12, 2007

Review the plans for the week. You will be grouped by project to complete your Project Specifications sheet, which is the blueprint for your whole project and grade. Begin PROJECT CONSULTATIONS. Read independently in order to finish your book by the end of this week. Try to fill in your Interactive Bookmark after each reading, selecting type #’s from 10 and above on the back of the bookmark. Include page #’s and type #’s.

Homework:

Make a list of and begin to gather the materials needed for your project. Bring your book (and any borrowed DVD’s) to class tomorrow!

 

Tuesday – March 13, 2007

Benchmark Lesson: Posters from United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. View the required scenes from “The Grey Zone.” Continue PROJECT CONSULTATIONS.

Homework: Begin your project following the guidelines you wrote on the Project Specifications handout.  Sign out a film. Read and view. Bring your book (and any borrowed DVD’s) to class tomorrow!

 

Wednesday– March 14, 2007 – COMPUTER LAB-Viewpoint Meeting

Select and view an online exhibit from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum website http://www.ushmm.org/museum/exhibit/online/  Explore the website for more ideas for your project. Print out directions to guide your project from the links listed on the Project Choice List. From my website, use the IMDB links to print out sheets from any movies you have viewed in full.   

Homework: Sign out a film. Read and view. Continue your project following the guidelines you wrote on the Project Specifications handout. Bring your book to class tomorrow & return DVD’s.

 

Thursday, March 15, 2007-COMPUTER LAB

View required scenes from “Escape from Sobibor.” Continue Computer Research. READ independently in order to finish your book by the end of this week.  Continue PROJECT CONSULTATIONS.

Homework: Sign out a book or a film. Read and view. Finish reading Book 2 and complete your Interactive Bookmark, to be handed in tomorrow.

 

Friday—March 16, 2007-COMPUTER LAB

If necessary, READ independently in order to finish your book by the end of this class. Hand in completed Interactive Bookmarks. Continue PROJECT CONSULTATIONS. Last day to complete Holocaust Research at the Computer Lab.

Homework: Sign out a film. Read and view. Complete at least 80% of your project.
