Plans for the week of October 9-13, 2006

This week we will view Stanley Kramer’s 1960 movie “Inherit the Wind.” We will finish our Book/Exam notes, creating the study guide for next week’s unit test on Inherit the Wind. You will have a binder check and Progress Report consultation with Mrs. Lo or Ms. Clifford.

 

Monday – October 9, 2006-Manners Monday

Go over the plans for the week. Discuss etiquette, salutations, and the unique behavioral challenges of high school interactions. 

Homework: One paragraph—How can having good manners help you get what you want in life?

 

Tuesday – October 10, 2006

In the Book/Exam notes, complete the Main Character pages. Begin to view “Inherit the Wind.”

Wednesday – October 11, 2006

Create our writing portfolios. Receive papers back. Have your binder checked for a quiz grade and have a consultation about your Progress Report. Continue to view “Inherit the Wind.”

Thursday – October 12, 2006

In the Book/Exam notes, fill in Important Words, Phrases and Concepts. Continue Progress Report consultations. Continue to view “Inherit the Wind.”

Homework: To the Literary Devices section of the Book/Exam notes—add 3 examples of alliteration from Hornbeck’s monologues.

 

Friday – October 13, 2006

Finish viewing “Inherit the Wind.” Discuss the film. Take a character identification quiz. Begin to review for the unit test.
