Annual School Violence Awareness Week

This week we will take the unit test on Inherit the Wind. You will have a binder check and Progress Report consultation with Mrs. Lo or Ms. Clifford. We will observe Annual School Violence Awareness Week by watching the A & E Investigative Report documentary “Teenagers under the Gun.”

Monday – October 16, 2006

Create our writing portfolios. Add ITW to your Works Read chart. Receive papers back. Have your binder checked for a quiz grade and have a consultation about your Progress Report. Hear a presentation about Random Drug Testing at North.

Homework: Read the “School Violence Awareness HSN Information Sheet”.

 

Tuesday – October 17, 2006

Discuss the requirements for short-answer questions, such as homework paragraphs. Continue the consultations. Make sure your Book/Exam notes are complete.

Homework: Study for the unit test on Inherit The Wind.

 

Wednesday – October 18, 2006

Hand in the Book/Exam notes and your copy of “Inherit the Wind.” Take the multiple choice unit test.

Homework:  One paragraph—What do you think is the solution to violence in schools?

 

Thursday – October 19, 2006

Take the Bully Quiz. Begin to view the A & E Investigative Report documentary “Teenagers under the Gun.”

Homework: Read the Associated Press article “Summit to Look at Issue of School Safety.” Tomorrow is the last day to bring in the 20$ for 10/21 PSAT.

 

Friday – October 20, 2006

Finish viewing “Teenagers under the Gun.” Discuss “Teenagers Under the Gun” and the issues of gun control and violence in the media. Discuss the 5 Roles In Conflict and read “Are You a Bystander?” and “Are You Being Bullied?”

Homework: You worked hard this week! Have a good weekend!
