Above All - Do Not Call the Middletown Township Police Department about school closing. The police switchboard when tied up by these calls cannot handle their obligations to receive and respond to police, fire and first aid emergency calls. Remember unnecessary calls prevent actual emergencies from being resolved.
Your cooperation is appreciated.
In the event of a delayed opening, school will begin at 9:40 a.m. and will end at the regular school time. There is always bus transportation for the students who would regularly be transported to and from our school. Please know that when a delayed opening occurs, students should report to their assigned bus stop 90 minutes from the regularly scheduled pickup time. (If the regular pickup time is 7:30a.m. delayed opening pickup time will be 9:00a.m.) Lunch will be served to all students.
In the event of a decision to close school early due to inclement weather, students will be dismissed at approximately 12:30 p.m. Transportation will only be provided to those students who normally ride our busses.
If school is closed early, every effort will be made to serve our student lunches.
All parents should arrange for a personal emergency family plan with their children beforehand, for example: Where is the key? Where do I go? etc.
Finally, please remember that it is better and safer for the school bus to take your children home if they have that service. No student will ever be left alone at Thompson regardless of weather conditions.
