Aerospace Design & Technology is a course where students are given instruction in aviation history and principles of flight. Students will use a CAD program, and construct working scaled models, such as rubber band powered wooden planes, water rockets, solid engine rockets, gliders, etc. Flight simulation software is used EXTENSIVELY throughout the year. Current events — such as military aviation technology and air strikes — are worked into the course. As military and state resources permit, I arrange military aviation personnel classroom visits, and attempt to arrange aircraft visits to High School North.
