    Board Game Club - Mr. Shull

    Play board games with friends and/or bring your own game to share with others.

    The club meets once a week usually on Mondays from 2:40-3:30 starting September 25.

    Environmental Club - Mr. Jacoves

    Learn about environmental issues, work on the courtyard/building birdhouses and help to take care of the vivariums.

    Math Contest Club - Mrs. Martino

    Thompson Math Contests for 2017-2018

    The Math Club administers various national math contests.  Mrs. Martino is also available if students want to review their contests and learn new strategies.  Please click on the link above for the dates and times of the math contests.
     

    Newspaper - Mrs. Devine

    The Newspaper Club meets Wednesdays after school until 3:30. Students report on news at the school, local, or national level, with an emphasis in pop culture or sports. Students also have an opportunity to illustrate comic strips or pictures for the paper. The newspaper is put out 3-4 times per year, and students actively participate in its distribution. All grade levels are welcome!

     

    Peer Leaders - Ms. Felder

    Peer Leadership is a program that meets on a consistent and regular basis that provides opportunity for students to participate in character building projects. These students will also participate in community service actives and are expected to be a positive role model for their peers.

     

    School Musical or Variety Show - Mrs. Divine, Mrs. Williams

    The school's musical event alternates every other year between a musical play and a variety show. This year we are performing Beauty & the Beast. An informational meeting will be held on October 13th after school and auditions will be October 19th and 20th. Rehearsals will begin sporadically in December, with the bulk of rehearsals happening in January, February, and March. Dress rehearsals are in the evening March 23rd and 26th, and the performances are the 27th (in the evening) and 28th (for students, directly after school).

     

    Sign Language Club - (Spring) Mrs. Castle

    STEM Club (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) Mrs. VanFechtmann

    The STEM club engages in building a variety of designs using K'NEX kits, Little Bits and Tinkercad.

    The club meets every other Wednesday in Cafe B from 2:45 - 3:30 starting September 20

     

    Student Activities - (in charge of field trips, charity activities) Ms. Muratore and Mrs. Kelesidis

    Organize grade level field trips, school pep rally, and other fundraising events

    Scheduled Wednesday morning meetings and during homeroom around field trip form collection time.

     

    Student Council - (elected students in charge of multiple school wide events) Mrs. Kelesidis

    Organize school dances and various activities within the school.

     

    Tech Tutors - Ms. Kling

    The Thompson Tech Tutors aim to assist students and staff with technologically based issues and questions. The Tech Tutors also meet to explore and learn about new advancements in technology and how they can be utilized to further members' skills.

     

    Thompson Singers - Mrs. Williams

    The Thompson Singers is a small singing ensemble comprised of female singers who are enrolled in chorus classes. The girls are in 7th and 8th grade chorus and have an above average singing voice.  Auditions are the first week of October and rehearsals are every Friday morning at  7:30 am all year long.

    The Thompson Singers compete in the Six Flags Competition and perform for teachers, parents and the community, as concerts arise during the school year.  In the past, the Thompson Singers have sung at events such as: elementary school concerts, the District Talent Show, Middletown Teacher of the Year Banquet, the Thanksgiving Breakfast and 8thgrade Graduation.  The girls learn more advanced music in the hopes of developing their vocal ability and musicianship.

     

    Yearbook - Mr. Freeman 

    Activities related to the yearbook include taking pictures, advertising sales, tracking sales, designing yearbook pages, making lists and checking them twice and various other yearbook activities. The yearbook staff meets on Wednesdays (and Fridays later in the year) after school until 3:30, as well as during homeroom on an as needed basis. After school photographing of extracurricular activities and sports will occur too.
