Governor Murphy’s announcement on May 4th keeping schools closed for the remainder of the academic year, clearly cancels all spring athletics. Our highest priority is always the health safety of our student athletes. During the current pandemic this is especially true and we completely understand and agree with the decision to keep our students, staff and the community safe.
We are truly saddened that we were unable to share so many moments with you this spring season.
To our graduating seniors we cannot thank you enough for representing Middletown with your hard word and dedication throughout your careers.
Currently, registration on Family ID is being prepared. However, the athletics department is awaiting guidance from the Department of Education and New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA). Please look for future emails through Family ID, we hope to have fall registration open in early June our plans are to use invitations through Family ID to announce registration.
Be advised the athletics department does not have answers to many questions at this time; including summer practices, tryout dates and pre participation physical requirements. We hope you will hold your questions pending further guidance from the New Jersey Department of Education where we hope to have those questions answered. Information will be posted as soon as possible on district web pages. Additionally, we will have google classrooms to share information and provide a section for questions.
Stay well, sincerely,
Middletown Public Schools
