George E. Obermeier, SAC at High School North has been in the field for over thirty years. Mr. Obermeier taught and coached at Penn State University for 8 years before being a CEO at New Beginnings of Cove Forge for 5 years. He has been on the faculty for the University School of Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependencies for almost 25 years. He has authored and published many articles on adolescent substance abuse during his national consulting days. He came to Middletown 17 years ago first as a consultant and then as a liscensed full time SAC, Student Assistance Coordinator. As a national consultant he served on the board at NALSAP (National Association for the Leadership of Student Assistance Programs) and presented programs in all fifty states. He was selected by NOSAPP (National Organization of Student Assistance Programs and Professionals) as the"Outstanding Student Professional of the Year" in 1988. He is currently serves as the Coordinator of the Monmouth County High School Task Force and Coache's the Girls Tennis Team at High School South and the Boy's at High School North. He is a certified teaching pro with the USPTR (United States Professional Tennis Registry).
As the SAC here at High School North Mr. Obermeier coordinates the Random Drug Testing Program, is the building Anti-Bullying Specialist and serves on the I+RS (Intervention and Referral Services) committee. Information on all of these programs can be found on this web site. Welcome!
