Hundreds Attend High School Pathways, Academies & Academic Opportunities Night
Pleas join District personnel on Wednesday, Dec. 4 for a 6:30 p.m. event in the High School North auditorium, where students and parents can learn more about our Pathways, Academies and advanced academic opportunities offered in our high schools.

District Partners with Local Historical Groups
In cooperation with Tom Valenti of the Middletown Historical Society, Linda Maresca and Elaine Hinkley of the Middletown Township Historic Preservation Commission, and Township Committeewoman Patricia Snell, the District has formed a partnership help bring more local history into our classrooms.

Thorne Launches District Fundraiser for Wreaths Across America
Wreaths Across America is a national nonprofit organization that relies on donations, and Thorne Middle School would like to make a donation on behalf of the entire District. If every staff member and student brought in $1, our donation could pay for wreaths to be put on the graves of hundreds of fallen heroes. Jars will be available in the main office of each school for staff, students, and community members to make donations. Larger donations can be sent to Thorne Middle School’s main office. Checks can be made out to “Wreaths Across America.”

Holiday Expressed ushered in the holiday season for hundreds of District students and staff members on Nov. 19 with a 90-minute concert of festive classics and soulful Rock N’ Roll.

Harmony School Stands Up to Cancer at Luca Strong Day
Harmony Elementary School students and staff rallied for Luca Iacono on Oct. 25, 2019 at the third annual Luca Strong Day, an event in which students are invited to wear pink and blue clothing in support their fifth grade classmate and friend who continues to battle against cancer.

Leonardo Makes History with New Book-Dispensing Vending Machine
On Sept. 27, Leonardo Elementary School made history when Principal Peter Smith, PTA President Sandy Lambe and Reading Development Teacher Tara Garzone presented students with a Book-Dispensing Vending Machine, the first of its kind in New Jersey.

River Plaza Celebrates $1 Million Grant at Traditional Walk to School Event
Principal David Whitman led parents and students from the parking lot of the nearby River Plaza firehouse through the streets of the surrounding neighborhood and down Hubbard Avenue to the front entrance of the school house. It was there the group celebrated a $1 million Safe Routes to School grant with local and state elected officials.
